​He is a special honorary professor / specially appointed professor at Shinshu University. Since 1990, as a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Shinshu University, he has been engaged in research mainly on the electronic properties of innovative carbon nanomaterials and their applications. He has consistently researched and developed basic science and applications of innovative carbon nanomaterials.

His experience consists in the synthesis, characterization, and applications of carbon nanomaterials.
